It’s pretty simple. Fighting hunger takes three things -- food, money and a desire to help. Here are the best ways to offer hope to your neighbors in need:
Make a financial contribution - It’s amazing what a dollar can do. With $1 we can put dinner on the table for a family of four. In fact, with every dollar you donate we’re able to return $5 in food to the community. And because a dollar can do so much, we strive to make the most of every one -- 95 cents out of every dollar we spend goes to feeding people in need and only 5 cents is used for administrative costs.
Become a product donor - The Food Depot succeeds because of the generosity of our food industry partners, both producers and retailers. Contributing food and other household and personal care products is not only good for the community, it provides lots of benefits for the donor.
Organize a food drive - You don’t have to be a big food company or giant supermarket to make a meaningful food donation. Community food drives -- organized by everyday people -- provide thousands of meals each year for the people who need them most. Food drives are easy, they’re fun and they feel good.
