The people have spoken — Dinner For Two has earned the title of Santa Fe's Best Soup at the 2015 Souper Bowl.
More than 1,000 people sampled soups from 29 restaurants at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center on Saturday, January 17, 2015. All proceeds from the 21st annual event went directly to feeding hungry Northern New Mexicans.
“We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the Santa Fe community,” said Sherry Hooper, executive director for The Food Depot. “The restaurants and sponsors have helped The Food Depot sustain this event for 21 years.”
In addition to the top prize, four area restaurants took home top honors for soups in the following categories:
Best Cream: Terra Restaurant at The Four Seasons Rancho Encantado
Best Seafood: The Pantry
Best Vegetarian: Bon Appetit at Santa Fe University of Art and Design
Best Savory: Dinner For Two
“This event has a huge impact on what we are able to do,” said Jill Gentry, director of development for The Food Depot. “The funds from this event help provide approximately a quarter of a million meals for hungry Northern New Mexicans.”
