Imagine . . .
being unable to meet your baby’s needs.
Nathaniel and Veronica were teenagers when their son Joshua was born, but with the help of vocational and life skills training from Adelante, they were managing on their own. When Joshua was three and a half, his sister Esperanza arrived, and it was soon apparent the baby had serious health issues.
To cope with the baby’s special needs, the entire family moved in with Veronica’s parents, who made space for the young family and helped with the children’s care, but couldn’t afford to cover all their expenses. Money is tight, but several local agencies are helping see the couple through this difficult time. The free diapers they receive every two weeks from the Diaper Depot make a huge difference in their budget, freeing up income for food and other necessities.
